I picked up a few of these Quansheng UV-K5(8) dual band handhelds for hacking on. The rigs have 3 power levels - L, M, and H. I was hoping that these would be around 0.5W, 1W, and 5W, although according to my cheapo power meter there isn't a great deal of difference between the three power levels:
